Catherine Ryan Hyde (born 1955) is an American novelist and short story writer, who is the author of 30 published and forthcoming books. Her novels have enjoyed bestseller status in both the U.S. and U.K., and her short stories have won many awards and honors. Her bestselling novel Pay it Forward was adapted into a major motion picture, chosen by the American Library Association for its Best Books for Young Adults list, and translated into more than 23 languages for distribution in over 30 countries.

Beyond Catherine Ryan Hyde’s writing, over the past few years Catherine has done a lot of professional public speaking. Catherine was privileged to speak at the National Conference on Education and at Cornell University. She even got to share a dais with Bill Clinton for three speeches. And she was invited to the White House for the movie screening of Pay It Forward.
